   MELANCHOLY -- We learn that on the 20th ult., MR. LEMUEL MURDAUGHT, of 
Bertie Countty, was struck by lightning while sitting in his house and 
instantly killed. The house caught fire, and was entirely consumed. MR. 
MURDAUGHT had but ten days previous of losing his wife.
