Bertie COUNTY NC Obits W.F. McGlaughn File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jvosper489@cs.com http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie/obits/mcglaughn.txt From the Biblical Recorder of Raleigh, NC (from film at the NC Baptist Archives at Reynolds Library, Wake Forest University at Winston-Salem, NC). January 20, 1892 MCGLAUGHN- Bro. W. F. McGlaughn died at his home in Bertie county, N.C., near Capeheart's church, on January 7th, 1892. Bro. McGlaughn only lacked a few days of being seventy-six years old when the Master called him home. He had been a member of Capeheart's church for forty-five years, and he died in the triumph of faith, and has gone to rest with loved ones on the other shore. Bro. McGlaughn had been a deacon in his church for a number of years. He loved his church, and his delight was to see it prosper. He leaves three children, one brother, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. When we meet at the old church for worship surely we shall miss him. His funeral was preached at his home by his pastor from Philippians 1:23, a text he had selected himself. Sleep on, dear brother, until the resurrection morn, and then we shall meet to part no more. W. P. Jordan. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
