Mizelle, who died at his home near Green's Cross Friday night: "Charity Lodge of Masons buried one of its oldest members on Saturday, May 3, when in the family burying ground it placed the body of John W. Mizelle with its beautiful rites. "Mr. Mizelle was a son of George Thomas Mizell and wife, Charlotte Debnam Mizelle. He died at the age of eighty years, three months, and four days. "His wife, Mrs. Pernicie Dempsey Mizell, survives him. Their living children are: John J. Mizell, Mrs. Sarah Mizell, Mrs. Mary Mizell, George Thomas Mizell, Charles Wesley Mizell, Aaron Lewis Mizell, Henry L. Mizell, and Mrs. Charlotte Pearl White. "He was an old-time blacksmith and in addition thereto a farmer of worth. The neighborhood in which he lived, "Blue Ridge," is peopled with a strong and sturdy citizenship. I have often said that almost every man and boy there could enter a machine shop without further training and do the most delicate work. "John Mizell was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Our lives touched each other near 70 years ago, and I have known him intimately since then. I proclaim him an honest and honorable man. - Francis D. Winston. This is my great-great grandfather. I presume the article was in the Windsor paper but do not have the original citation.
