Sue P. Phelps 
 

Sue Elizabeth Phelps Phelps, 96, of Merry Hill, NC, passed away Tuesday, October
26, 2010 at Smithfield Manor, Smithfield, after a period of declining health. 
She was born April 16, 1914 in Bertie County to the late Franklin and Susan
Smithwick Phelps. 
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Howard Phelps, one sister, Margaret
Phelps, and two brothers, Robert and Albert Phelps. She was a homemaker and
member of Capehart Baptist Church.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010
at Capehart Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour
prior to the service at Capehart Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Merry Hill.
She is survived by her son, Gene H. Phelps, and wife, Dorothy of Smithfield; her
daughter, Peggy Todd, and husband, Hoyt of Aulander; and her sister, Edna
Thompson of Winter Park, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to
Capehart Baptist Church, 101 Caphart Church Road, Merry Hill, NC 27957.
Walker Funeral Home of Windsor is serving the Phelps family.
