MARTHA ELIZABETH PERRY

The Death Angel visited the home of Mr. J.A. Perry
and took from him his beloved wife, Martha
Elizabeth.  She was the daughte rof our late
countyman, Mr. John Hughes, who passed from his
earthly home only a short while ago.  Mrs. Perry
leaves three children, two of them married, the
other one is a small girl age nine years. She also
leaves brothers and sisters and a great bout of
friends to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Perry was a kind affectionate wife and mother
and loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful
member of Ross' Baptist church until she transferred
her membership to Colerain about two years ago,
having given herself to Christ at the age of sixteen
years. She was faithful and true to the end.
Therefore, be it resolved that with deep sympathy
with the bereaved relatives and friends of the
deceased, we express our hope that even so great a
loss to us all may be overruled by him who doth all
things well. Now may the blessings of God wait upon
the bereaved family, the son of his glory shine
around their hearts, may no strife disturbe their
days nor sorrow distress their nights and may the
pillows of peace kiss their cheeks and pleasures of
imagination attend their dreams and when length of
years make them tired of earthly joy may the
curtains of death gently  ---- around the scene of
their existence, may the Angels of God attend their
bed and finally may the Saviour's blood wash them
from all impurities and prepare them to enter into
the land of everlasting joy.

NOTES:
This was Lizzie Viola Baker's great grandmother.
Lizzie's mother was Annie Elizabeth Bowen Baker (b
2-18-1879 d 4-30-1969) she is buried in the
Capeharts Church Cemetery....her mother was
Christian Mary Perry Bowen (b. 1862 married James T.
Bowen)...and her mother was Levenia Catherine Hughes
(b 4-11-1827 d 1-14-1915 whom married Martin Van
Buren Perry.
