The Raleigh Standard, June 8, 1859
   DIED, at the residence of her husband, in Bertie County, on Sunday, the 1st 
day of May, 1859, MRS. LUCY ANN SWAIN, wife of MR. WHITMEL R. SWAIN.

She was buried in the family graveyard at the residence of her grandfather, JOHN D. HAWKINS, of Franklin County. Her affected husband and several of her friends followed the remains from Bertie to Franklin.
