Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. C.L. Gatling. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. Mrs. Tillery, 79 died on Monday in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Suffolk. She was the widow of Linwood Tillery and a daughter of Henry and Mrs. Catherine Miller Tillery. A native of North Carolina, she lived in Virginia 44 years. She was a member of Sedley Baptist Church and for years taught its Ladies Class and was president of the Women’s Missionary Union. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Marie T. Hancock and Mrs. Lessie T. Edwards of Courtland, Mrs. Ellises T. Hancock and Mrs. Beatrice T. ---sey of Sedley, Mrs. Catherine T. Daughtrey of Franklin and Mrs. Beverly T. Johnson of Hampton; four sons, Henry Tillery of Portsmouth, Hubert Tillery of Suffolk, Julian Tillery of Sebrell and Cecil Tillery of Sedley; six sisters, Mrs. B--- T. Reese and Mrs. Eva T. Templeton of Florida, Mrs. Em—T. Harrell of Chesapeake and Mrs. Verdie T. Marr, Mrs. Elsie T. Walker and Mrs. Catherine T. Nummy of Norfolk; four brothers, Hobson Taylor of Williamston, N.C., Broaddus Taylor of Aulander, N.C., Clinton Taylor of Norfolk and Dowell Taylor of Chesapeake; --- grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. *this obit was partly folded over so I had to guess at some of the words.
