The Evanstown School
 
Located in southeastern Hertford County (in the area of Evanstown
and Baker roads), the Evanstown School is one example of the former
one-room schoolhouses in Bertie and Hertford counties.  In the early 
1900's, children living in SE Hertford and NE Bertie counties attended
the Evanstown ungraded school.  Photograph by Lynn McCarthy (1999).
