Deed book FF pg. 41 6 Feb 1841 $325 Starkey Ruffin to Jno Ruffin (Deed) This Indenture made and entered into this 6th day of February 1841 between Starkey Ruffin of the first part and John Ruffin of the second part both of the County of Bertie and Sate of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said Starkey Ruffin for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred and twenty five dollars to him in hand paid by the said JOHN RUFFIN, the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged both bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell and release unto the said JOHN RUFFIN his heirs and assigns forever all his title and interest in and to any lands lying and being in the corner of Bertie in the State of North Carolina which descended to the said STARKEY RUFFIN as one of the heirs at law of the late THOMAS RUFFIN, being his undivided interest in that portion of the lands of the said THOMAS purchased by him after the date of his last will and testament; to have and to hold the said bargained premises, together with the appertenances and all and singular the rights and kpriviledges to it appertaining or in any wise belonging to him the said JOHN RUFFIN, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof, and the said STARKEY RUFFIN doth hereby for himself and his heirs, executors, and administrators, warrant and define the above bargained premises, to wit, one fifth of the undivided fifth of the lands purcahsed by said THOMAS RUFFIN, subsequent to the date of his said last will and testament to him the said JOHN RUFFIN, his heirs and assigns against all persons claiming through and by him and against the lawful claims of each and every person whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said STARKEY RUFFIN hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, this day and year above written.
