BERTIE COUNTY Deed - Dempsey VEALE to Richard VEALE - Feb 8, 1805 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Virginia Crilley varcsxi@hot.rr.com Bertie County, NC Deed Book T p 228 Veal and wife to Veale This indenture made this 8th day of February in the year One Thosand Eight Hundred and Five (1805) between DEMPSEY VEALE of the State of North Carolina and County of Bertie of the one part and RICHARD VEALE of the same State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said DEMPSEY VEALE hath bargained sold and put into possession of the said RICHARD VEAL a certain tract or message of land lying and being in the State and County aforesaid lying in ROCQUIST POCOSIN, it being a prt of the land that belonged to MORRIS VEAL dec'd. Ruled and Bounded as follows: Beginning at two oaks and a Gum in James Grimes [husband of Catherine Veale], thence along his line N50 W 15 pole to a sweet gum S33 W to Gardners old p__en line Then along said line E 13 pole to WILLIAM VEALE'S CORNER Thence along his line N36 E to the first station all which lands in the above boundary containing Eight Acres be the same more or less. I the said, Dempsey Veal for myself, my heirs, ext & adm or assings hat bargained sold and conveyed to the said Richard VEAL him, his heirs, Exrs or Admst with all the privileges or advantages therein contained or in any otherwise appurtaining to him and his use for the sum of Ten Pounds to me the s'd DEMPSEY VEAL to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge and myself satisfied and paid and further more I the said DEMPSEY VEAL do warrant and agree to and with the said RICHARD VEAL to forever warrant and defend the title of the above premises of Land unto the Richard Veal clear from all incumbrances, rights, claime of any person whatsoever for me my heris, ext Adm as Witness my hand and seal the day and date abaove mentioned. The within Deed from Dempsey Veal and Saphere Veal his wife to Richard Veal was acknowledged in open court by the said Dempsey Veal, ordered to be registered.
