Second, after my just debts are all paid, I give all my personal items (?) of every kind to my heirs at law to be divided among them according to the laws of the state. Third, I give to Caroline Keeter, provided she continues to live until my death one sow and one heifer also one barrel of corn and one hundred pounds of meal. Should she leave me before my death, then I give her nothing. I hereby appoint my brother John Anthony Phelps, my executor. In witness of all which, I hereunto write my name and affix my seal this 22nd day of December, 1868. Signed and sealed in presence of this (****) (****) James B. Lawrence State of North Carolina, Bertie County In Probate Court July 8, 1876, this last will and testament of Elizabeth Byrum was this day duly proved by the oaths of Wm. A. Lawrence, James B. S (******) the two subscribing witnesses thereto who made oaths that they witnessed the said will of Elizabeth Byrum at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other and that she was of sound mind and memory at the time of signing this same. At the same time John A. Phelps, the executor therein named and duly qualified as such. It is ordered that said will be recorded. Signed, Wm.
