All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: TJ Malone azlilowl@vtc.net September 21, 2005, 4:32 pm Source: Lds Library, Salt Lake City, Ut Written: July 21, 1789 In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Farmer being of Perfect and mind and Memory Thanks be given to God for the Same Therefore calling to mind the Mor - tality of my Body & Knowing that it is appointed for all men to Die Do make and ordain these presents to Contain my Last Will and Testament First I give and Devise to my Son Luke Farmer all the Land and Plantation that I bought of Thomas Parker being the East most part of my Lands Joining Wm Morrises and Mary Woods Lines to him his heirs and assigns for Ever & I give him my White Horse Secondly I give and devise to my Son Joseph Farmer my Manour Plantation and Land begining at the Division Line between the Lands before Given and my Other Lands Runing up Sequere Swamp to branch that Runs next to the Plantation thence Runing up the Said branch and up the Westermost Prong of sd. branch to a Little Pocoson to the head Line to him his heirs and Assigns for ever & I give to him my Sorrell Horse and my hand Mill Thirdly I Give and Devise to my Son James Farmer my Land and Plantation all that Lies up Sequere between the branch before mentioned and the Road and up to the head Line to him his heirs and assigns for ever 4thly I Give and bequeath to my Son William Farmer one Shilling Sterling money 5th I Give and bequeath to my Son John Farmer one Shilling Sterling money 6th I Give to my Son Josiah Farmer one Shilling Sterling money 7th I Give to my Son Jesse Farmer one Shilling Sterling money 8th The Residue or Remainder of my Estate of every Kind Specie or Quality Whatsoever I Give to be Equally Divided between my Wife Sarah Farmer my Son King Farmer and and five Daughters (to wit) Elisabeth Farmer Sarah Farmer Winne Farmer Judah Farmer and Rachel Farmer Share and Share alike to them and their heirs for ever 9th I hereby Constitute Appoint and Ordain my friends Ephiraim Mitchel and John Early Junr my Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I Do hereby Disallow Revoke and Disanul all and every Other Former Will Legacy or Bequest in any wit before Named Willed or bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no Other to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the twenty first day of July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine Joseph (his mark) Farmer (Seal) Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and Declared by the said Joseph Farmer to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us X William Cherry William X (His mark) Mitchell Silva (her mark) Scott Additional Comments: (Note from transcriber: This transcription was a labor of love & created from a copy of the Will itself that can be found at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City.
