Bertie County, North Carolina - Wills

Will of Winafred FLEETWOOD, July 4, 1839; proved Feb 1840

In the name of God Amen, I Winafred FLEETWOOD of North Carolina & Bertie
County do make & ordain this to be my last will & testament--

I give and bequeath to my grandchildren Martha & Edmund DUNSTON one dollar
to them & their heirs forever. I give to my son William FLEETWOOD one
dollar to him & his heirs forever. I give to my son Charles FLEETWOOD one
dollar to him & his heirs forever and also give to my grandson David James
FLEETWOOD one dollar to him & his heirs forever. 

I give to my daughter Sarah LEGETT & to my grandson-in-law Wm. HYMAN all
the money & notes to be equidivided between them too after paying my just
debts & my burial expences, to them & their heirs forever. 

I allso give to W. HYMAN my large chest. I also give my daughter Sarah
LEGETT one large trunk and all my clothing. I give to my granddaughter
Martha HYMAN one white countipin. I give my daughter Sarah LEGETT one cow &
calf to her & her heirs forever. I leave to William HYMAN the settlement of
my business as Executor. July 4, 1839.

Bertie County - Court Feby Term 1840

This last will & testament of Winafred Fleetwood, dec'd, was proved in open
court by the oath of Wm. MORING [sic] of the subscribing witness thereto &
ordered to be registered at the same time. Wm. HYMAN the Executor therein
named qualified as such.
