McCollum In the name of God Amen, I Martha Freeman of Bertie County and State of North Carolina being porely and weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the undertainty of this mortal life knowing it is appointed for the human once to die Do the first day of November in the year of our Lord 1815 do make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form to wit. First: My will and desire is that all just debts and Funeral Charges be paid and discharged. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Nichols one cow and calf which she has received to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Winiford Spivey one cow and calf which she has received to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Silvia Ward one cow and calf and the part of the plantation and land I bought of John Ward to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Williford one feather bed and furniture three cows and calves which she has received to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son James Freeman one feather bed and furniture and one gun which he has received and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha McGlauhon one feather bed and furniture and one cw and calf which she has received and one Bofat to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my grandaughter Martha Spivey one (feather--) Bed and furniture which was in possession of her mother Sylvia Ward and two Ewes and lambs to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson James Ward the land and plantation that I bought of Nathaniel Nichols provided the said James Ward should arrive to lawful age or have lawful issue of the natural body but in case he should die under age and have no lawful issue of his natural Body I give and bequeath the said land unto all the children that said Silvia Ward Wife of Joshua Ward has or may have to be equally divided among them all if in case they all should (die) and have no lawful issue of their natural bodys I leave the land to return to my family to be equally divided between all my children to them and their heirs forever. My wish and desire is that if there should be any of the ----------? -------------? I bought at Blake Rabyıs sale that Silvia Ward should have for the use of her family. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson Aaron Newsom one feather bed and some furniture which is in possession of his mother Susanna Nichols to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson William Dunning one feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever. My will and desire is that if the Plantation rented out and crop growing upon it is rented then that such a --------? may have the liberty of taking it off at my death and part equally divided and the fruit if any amongst all my children. Item: My will and desire if I have any debts unpaid they may be paid with the lightwood in timber of that land I bought of Nathaniel Nichols. My will and desire that the remainder of my estate be Equally divided among all my children. Silvia Wardıs part to her. Lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved son James Freeman and George (McGlauhon) my executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking and disalowing all former wills and testaments by me made and declare this and no other to be my last will. Signed sealed and published and declared by the Testament to my last Will and Testament.
