I Nicholas Harmon the State of North Carlina and County of Bertie being of Sound and perfect mind and Memory blessed be god do make and pub- lish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following That is to Say first I give & bequeath to my Son Nicholas Harmon a piece of Land to begin in poplar branch at the Road Runing up the Said branch across my plantation and continue the said course to the head Line to a pine in James Tayloe line thence along Tayloes line to his corner a pine thence along Said Taylor James Williams to his corner a pine thence along Tayloes Line across the Road to a pine & red oak Tayloes and Prudens line and Continuing the along prudens line to the main poplar branch Near pruden House thence up the branch to the first Station to him his heirs and a Signs for Ever Secondly I give and bequeath unto my Son Joshua Harmon a parcell of Land beginning at the Road where former Gift began and Runing across my Manour Plantation the Line of the former Divise to the head line to James Tayloes afore said thence runing said Tayloes Pine N. Westerly to the head of Mulbery branch to a pine thence down the said branch Michael Martens Line and Continuing on Martins Line to the Road thence Down the Road to the first Station to him his heirs & assigns for Ever thirdly The Remaining part of my Land I give and Divide to my Son Michael Harmon to him his heirs and assigns for Ever fourthly I Lend unto my Wife Elisabeth one of my Houses and one third part of my plantation and apple orchard and one mare and feather bed & furniture and an Equal Share of my Estate of Every kind Enduring her natural Life or Widow Hood fifthly I giveunto my Daughter Anna Farmer five Shillings in full for her part of my Estate to her & heirs for Ever 6ly I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Betsey Harmon one feather bed and furniture one Cow and Calf one Ewe & Lamb one Sow and pigs 7ly I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Nelley Harmon one feather bed and furniture one Cow and Calf one Sow and pigs one Ewe and Lamb and one Side Saddle to her & her heirs for Ever The Remaining part of my Estate I give to be divided Equally betwen my five Sons and two Daughters to wit Abraham jonathan Nicholas Joshua Michael Betsey and Nelley Harmon And There by make and Ordain my Son Abraham Harmon and my Son Nicholas Harmon Executors of this my Last Will and Testament in Witness where of I the Said Nicholas Harmon have to this my Last Will and Testament Set my hand and Seal the Day and year above Written Nicholas X (his mark) Harmon [seal] Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Nicholas Harmon the testator as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who were present at the time of Signing and Sealing thereof James Tayloe X (his mark) Christian Tayloe Winafred Douglass D Pruden Additional Comments: (Note from transcriber: This transcription was a labor of love & created from a copy of the Will itself that can be found at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City.
