I give and bequeath unto my nephew Noah Thompson 200 acres of land joining his own land beginning at a white oak formerly standing on the (Village Pond) it being a corner tree of the old patent line then running up the old line as far that the lines hereafter mention will contain the 200 acres of land a straight line across to the (Village Swamp) then down the meanders of said swamp to the corner of said old patent line and (Thomas Bonds) corner then running the said line to the first station, I also give and bequeath unto the said Noah Thompson 200 acres on Roquist Pocoson; item I give and bequeath unto my brother William Hinton the manor plantation whereon I now live and all my land joyning it except the 200 acres of land already given, I also give and bequeath unto my said brother William Hinton the following tracts of land and plantations, to wit, 200 acres ly8ing in the marshes, 300 acres lying in the Indian Woods, 200 acres lying in the Roquist Pocoson, 100 acres lying in the Piney Woods; Item I give and bequeath unto my brother, William Hinton the following twenty Negroes, to wit, Barns, Hager, Burrell, Nell, Great Cader, (Penny), Milley, Isaac, Sarah, Eady, Jeffrey, (Mussen), Sall, Little Cader, (Coffe), (Maide), Rett, (Vice), Nan, Jacob, them and their future increase; item I give and bequeath unto Noah Thompson the following Negroes, to wit, Bet, Lucy, Solomon, John, Joe, Stephen, Charles, Selah, Hardy, (Judah), Davy, Moll, Gilbert, Tom, Chaney, Great Tim, them and their future increase; Item I give and bequeath unto my sister, Mourning Sumner the following Negroes, to wit, Amy, Lettis, Reuben, Hanner, (Rachall), them and their future increase; item I give and bequeath unto my niece (Elisabeth Bond) the following Negroes, to wit, (Sinder) and her future increase; item I give and bequeath unto my nephew (Miles Blanch) the following Negroes, to wit, (Philis) and her future increase; item I give and bequeath unto my nephew (Uriah Blanchard) the following Negroes, to wit, (Long Jim); item I give and bequeath unto William Hinton, son of my nephew William Hinton the following Negroes, to wit, (Willis) and Tibby, they and their future increase; item I give and bequeath unto Micajah Hinton, son of said William Hinton the following Negroes, to wit, Venus and Harry, they and their future increase; item I give and bequeath unto my brother William Hinton and Noah Thompson all the remainder of my estate consisting of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep , (specie), bonds, notes, book accounts, household furniture and all kinds of articles whatsoever to be equally divided between them, share and share alike and make and ordain my brother William Hinton and Noah Thompson executors of my will, signed Noah Hinton, wit (Geo. House), Titus Moore, (Lucas Thompson), Aquillia Long (A). Codicil- This may certify that I have given to Noah Thompson a tract of land on Roanoke River beginning at the mouth of Forked Gut running the said gut to my back line then the said line to the corner then the (dividing line) between William Williams & self to the river then up the meanders of the river to the first station containing 60 acres, it being part of the land bought of William Williams Sr, all the remainder of the land I have given to my brother William Hinton in the above will I now give to his two sons, Noah Hinton & William Hinton and all the other property I have given to my said brothr William Hinton I give to be equally divided between his three children, to wit, Noah Hinton, William Hinton and Elisabeth Thompson, now the wife of ( ) of Bertie Co, signed Noah Hinton, 18 Jan 1798, wit Reuben Norfleet, Thos. Thompson, (Hezikiah OR Zachariah Thompson). Codicil- Noah Thompson has died and the children of the said Noah Thompson shall have the property devised to him, signed Noah Hinton, 28 May 1799, wit William Mitchel (mark), Titus Moore.
