Hobson, Francis will date 26 Feb 1766, no probate date; In the name of God Amen
I Francis Hobson of Bertie County... considering the uncertainty of this mortal
life and being of (sound) and perfect mind and memory blessed by Almighty God...
first all my debts and funeral charges be paid and discharged; secondly I give
and bequeath to my sister Grace Cannady one shilling lawful money of Great
Britain; thirdly I give and bequeath to Francis Cannady one shilling lawful
money of Great Britain; fourthly I give and bequeath to James Cannady one
shilling lawful money of Great Britain; fifthly I give and bequeath to David
Cannady one shilling lawful money of Great Britain; sixthly I give and bequeath
to John Cannady one shilling lawful money of Great Britain; seventhly I give and
bequeath to Ephriam Cannady one shilling lawful money of Great Britain; eighthly
I give and bequeath to Mary Griffin one shilling lawful money of Great Britain;
ninthly I give and bequeath to Sarah Gainer one shilling lawful money of Great
Britain; tenthly I give and bequeath to Francis Hobson one shilling lawful money
of Great Britain; eleventhly I give and bequeath to Mary King one shilling
lawful money of Great Britain; twelfthly I give and bequeath to John Anderson
one shilling lawful money of Great Britain; thirteenthly I give and bequeath to
Robert Anderson one shilling lawful money of Great Britain; fourteenthly I give
and bequeath to William Anderson one shilling lawful money of Great Britain;
fifteenthly I give and bequeath to Rachel Jones one shilling lawful money of
Great Britain; sixteenthly I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth
Hobson her heirs forever all my lands in the counties of Bertie, Beaufort and
Tyrrell; seventhly I give and bequeath to my said loving wife Elizabeth Hobson
the following Negroes, viz, Mingo, Cate, Mareah, Phillis, Nancy, Lucea, London,
Bob, Sylvia, Dick, Penny, Jack and Primas; eighteenthly I give and bequeath all
the rest of my personal property to my loving wife, Elizabeth Hobson;
Nineteenthly and lastly I nominate and appoint my two ( ) (Thomas ???) And David
Standley executors of my will, signed Francis Hobson, wit William Starke, John
Capehart, Thomas Hackett. NO PROBATE DATE, FOLDER MARKED 1766. Abstracted
