Hoggard Will - 1898 North Carolina, Bertie County I, Jesse G. Hoggard of the aforesaid County and State, being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament, First my executor, hereinafter mentioned or names shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wished of my friends and relative, and pay all my funeral expenses, together with all my just debts out of the first money which may come into her hands, belonging to my estate. Second, I give and bequeath to my wife, Abby Hoggard all my property of every description, consisting of all my land, horses, wagons, carts, cattle, hogs and all other property that I may own at my death not herein mentioned, to have and to hold and use to her best advantage during her natural life and after her death my John H. Hoggard tract of land I will to my daughter, Nancy E. Bazemore, and all other property of every description shall be equally divided my daughter Nancy E. Bazemore, and my son Jessee W. Hoggard. I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Abby Hoggard my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament, in witness whereof I the said Jessee G. Hoggard, deceased is this day exhibited before me, the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, and the due execution thereof is proved by the oath and examination of _. R. Cherry and E. E. Harmon, the subscribing witnesses thereto who testify that the said Jessee G. Hoggard signed the said paper writing in their presence and declared the same to be his last will and testament, and that they did at the request of said testator and in his presence write their names at the end of said will as attesting witnesses thereto and that at the time when said will was so executed said Jessee G.
