Hoggard Will -- 1893 State of North Carolina Bertie County I, Joseph B. Hoggard near Windsor, of the County and State aforesaid, being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:- That my executor Emanuel Tayloe shall provide for my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my relatives and pay all funeral expenses, together with my just debts howeverso and whosoever and to whomsoever owing, out of the moneys that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate. I give, deliver and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lucy W. Hoggard, mix of what nature or kind soever and whereinsoever the same shall be a the time of my death. All of my household and kitchen furniture, and all my real estate her lifetime. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Malinda Tayloe after my wife's' lifetime fifty acres of the land including my mansion where I now live. I five and bequeath unto my other two daughters Mary Pediford (? name somewhat difficult to read) & Penelope Garrett the residue adjoining my daughter Malinda's fifty Acres after my wife's' death. I give and bequeath to Ephram Holly & wife and their children ten Acres of land on this side of the Shadgitt field, and (the above lines in this paragraph are marked through with a single, fine line) Emanuel the residual of same land all of which they are to receive after my wife's death. I give and bequeath the portion of land given to Emanuel Tayloe and wife Josephine Tayloe, to Joseph B. Holly after Emanuel Tayloe & wife's death. If Joseph B. Holly dies, I five and bequeath same portion of land above mentioned to James Capehail (surname difficult to read). In witness whereof, I the said Joseph B.
