I, John Howcott of the Precinct of Bertie being very sick and weak but of perfect ______ and memory Praises be to Almighty God for the same and knowing that it is appointed ________ for all men to die do make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following Viz: First. I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it to me hoping that at the __________________ I shall receive forgiveness for all my sins and my body to be burried in a Christian like manner at the direction of my Executors hereafter named. I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Howcott a Certain piece of land called by the name Stancells belonging to a larger tract unto the said Edward Howcott his heirs and his assignes forever. I give and bequeath unto my son John Howcott my now Dwelling Plantation after his mother's decease to him, his heirs and assignes forever. I give and bequeath to my Son Richard Howcott a piece of land joing to his Dwelling Plantation and to ______________ Line and all the land that Lies on Vizes Branch to him and his heirs for ever. I give unto my Eldest Daughter Elizabeth Branch one cow and calf and one new Pewter Basson to be Delivered to her the next Spring. I give unto my Son John Howcott one new Pewter Dish Basson and two plates. I give and bequeath unto my Son Richard one Dish, Basson, and two Plates. I give and bequeath unto my Son Nathaniel Howcott one New Dish Basson and two Plates. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Howcott one Dish Basson and two old Plates. I give and bequeath unto my Son John one Cow and Calf. I give and bequeath unto my Son Richard one Cow and Calf. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary one Cow and Calf. I Give and Bequeath to my son Nathaniel one Cow and Calf and their Incrase forever. I give unto my Son Edward one Cow and Calf. I give unto my Son Nathaniel the Feathers which are in the bed I now lie on and a new tick and bolster. I leave thirty head of hogs for the use of the plantation which_____________________________ otherwise than what I have defined. My will and _________ is that my three Sons Edward, John, and Richard pay the mortgage money and that my wife maintain my son Richard untill he comes of age. My will is that my horse Major may be sold by Brother Edward Howcott or if my Brother should not sell said horse my Son Edward may have him provided he redeems my Bill. I give unto my Son John one Black Mare Called Til. I give unto my Son Richard one Colt. I give unto my Well beloved Wife Mary Howcott all my Moveable goods whatsoever but what is _____________________ in this my Will During her Widowhood. ____________ my will that my son John be of full age at the day of ______________ and my Sons Richard and Nathaniel at the age of eighteen and that my Brother Edward Howcott and my son Edward be executors of this my last Will and Testament in Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of July Anno Domini 1732.
