BERTIE COUNTY WILL - OLIVER, John -1794 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by goroke@cyberspace.org Charles Oliver                    [WILL OF JOHN OLIVER] In the Name of God Amen, the Twenty third day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety four.  I John Olliver of the State of North Carolina and in the County of Bertie being of Perfect mind and Sound Memory, Do appoint and Ordain thes [sic] presents under Written to Contain my Last Will and Testament in the following form --- 1st  I Give and bequeath to my Son Marten Olliver the Lands and Plantation the I bought of William Pearce to him his heirs and Assigns forever Provided he Should have an heir of his own body and if no Such heir of his body Then to his Other brothers to Equally Divided between them and their heirs and Assigns forever. 2d  I Give and bequeath to my Son Malachi Olliver two Hundred Acres of New patent Land lying on Plumtree Pocoson to him his heirs and Assigns forever and Also one feather bed and furniture and one Cow and Calf, one Pewter Dish, one Pewter Bason and half Dozen pewter plates, and Twenty Pounds Current money. 3rd  I Give and bequeath to my Son Shadrach Olliver my Manour plantation whereon I now live and one hundred Acres of Land belonging thereto, and fifty Acres of new patent Land lying on the Sequare Swamp,and fifty Acres of new patent Land lying and joining Issac Jenkins's Land, to him his heirs and Assigns forever and one horse Bridle and Saddle, one Cow and Calf, one Sow and pigs, one Ewe and Lamb, one Cutting ax, one hoe, one featherbed and furniture and One Gun and fifteen pounds Current money. 4th  I Give and bequeath to my Daughtor Winneford Olliver One feather Bed and furniture, one Cow and Calf, one Ewe and Lamb and one Linnen Wheel, forever. 5th  I Give and bequeath to my Daughtor Dicey Olliver one feather bed and furniture, one cow and Calf, one Ewe and Lamb, and one Linnen Wheel, forever. 6th  I give my Tar Kiln now built to be equally Divided among four Sons John, Marten, Malachi, and Shadrach after my Debts is paid out of her.
