Estates, titled "Estate of Abraham Perry" ______________________________ "State of North - Carolina Know all Men by these Presents, That Solomon Stone, John Oxley, and Herbert Pritchard are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Saml. Johnston Esq., Governor, Captain-General, and Commander in Chief of the State aforesaid, in the full and just Sum of One Thousand Pounds to be paid to his said Excellency the Governor, his Successors or Assigns: To the which Payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals and dated this twentieth Day of May Anno Dom. 1788. The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above bounden Solomon Stone Administrator of all and singular the Goods and Chattels, Rights and Credits of Abraham Perry, Deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods and Chattels, Rights and Credits of the Deceased, which have, or shall come to the Hands, Knowledge, or Possession of the said Solomon Stone or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons, for him and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Secretary's Office, and one attested Copy thereof to the County court, where Orders for Administration passed, within Ninety Days after the Date of these Presents; and the same Goods, Chattels, and Credits, and all other the Goods, Chattels and Credits, of the Deceased, at the time of his Death, which at any Time hereafter shall come into the Hands or Possession of the said Solomon Stone or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for him do well and truly administer according to Law: And further, do make, or cause to be made, a true and just Account of his said Administration, within One Year after the Date of these Presents, and all the Rest and Residue of the said Goods, Chattels, and Credits, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account (the same being first examined and allowed, agreeable to Law) shall deliver and pay unto such Person or Persons respectively as the same shall be due, pursuant to the true Intent and Meaning of the Act in that Case made and provided; And if it shall appear, that any Will and Testament was made by the said Deceased, and the Executor or Executors therein named do exhibit the same into Court, making Request to have it allowed and approved of accordingly, if the said Solomon Stone above-bounden being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said Letters of Administration, (Approbation of such Testament being first had and made in the said Court;) Then this Obligation to be void and of none Effect; or else to remain in full Force and Virtue. Estates, titled "Estate of Abraham Perry" ______________________________ "Division of the Estate of Abraham Perry, decd Recorded in Book E, page 69 No. Carolina } In Obedience to the Annex'd Order Bertie County of the Worshipfull Court, David Meredith, Robert Hendry & James Campbell met at the House of Solomon Stone on the third day of Sept. last and made the following Division of the Estate of Abraham Perry deceas'd among his Legal representatives Viz. Ann Perry, Widow. William Stone & Solomon Stone, husbands to his two Daughters, Priscilla & Sarah, in the following manner. To Wit ~ 150 Acres of Land in the County Aforesd: to William Stone and Solomon Stone agrees to pay 160 Acres of Land or £ 100 as his lott we Judged to be this difference. 150 Acres of Land on Chowan River to Solomon Stone 2 Wedges - - - } To Solomon Stone 1 Currying Knife ____________________ 1 Rake 2 Plains } To Ann Perry ----- 2 old Chizzells 1 Grubbing Hoe ____________________ 1 Grubbing hoe } To William Stone 1 Bark beater ___________________ 1 bagg., 1 Penknife, 1 Gimblet, to Sol. Stone, he paying 3/4 to Mrs. Perry & his Bro. There was Sundry other Articles in the Inventory as may be seen by the one returned to Court but Mrs. Perry proving by Several Witnesses they were given to her at the time her husband parted from her we thought in Justice they were her own property. Mrs. Perry likewise has her third of the Two Tracts of Lands which is to be laid off by a Surveyor as all parties agreed thereto we Consented, and this our return Given under our hands this 4th day of September 1788.
