All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Lynn McCarthy lcmcmw5761@aol.com April 16, 2013, 3:32 pm Source: Will Book G, Page 494 Written: 1852 Bertie County, NC Superior Court Will Book G, Page 494 William Rice Will In the name of God amen I William Rice, of the State of North Carolina, and County of Bertie, being low in, but in perfect, mind and memory, wish to dispose of my property, in the following manner, Viz, I Give unto my Daughter, Ann Rebecca, two negro Girls, Adaline to her and her heirs forever. 2nd I Give unto Daughter Sarah Francis two negroes one boy and one girl, to her and her heirs forever. 3d I Give unto all my sons all my lands to Equally divided among them all, to them and their heirs forever. 4th I wish to lend unto my beloved Wife all of my estate, Except the two negroes first given, to my oldest daughter, to manage as she thinks best, so long as shall live widow. 5th I also wish after paying my just debts for all this above lent property after death or widowhood of my wife to sold and divided among my wife and children, with the exception of my two first named Daughters, in this will. Also I wish if either one of my children shuld die without marring for all the rest to have an equal part of their part and if my wife shall die before my youngest childre shall become with age I wish my property to keep together until they are of age or marry. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Executor to this my last will and testament, in where unto I set my hand and seal the 5th of December 1852.
