All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by JWmo01@aol.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Bertie County State of North Carolina In the name of God Amen, I Charles Sowell of the County and State before said do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following - It is my will, and desire that all my just debts shall be paid and then my will and desire is that the rest of my property shall be disposed of in the following manner, viz: Whereas I have already gave unto my two sons, John Sowell and Charles Sowell and unto my two daughters, Sally Pruden and Polly Moor, all I intend they shall have of my property, and what I now die pofsefsed of I lend unto my well beloved wife during her natural life and at her decease to be equally divided between my three daughters, Patsey Sowell, Priscila Sowell and Hetty Sowell and if either of them should die before she should marry or arrive at the age of maturity, then the property to go to the rest of the afsd daughters that is now unmarried. It is also my will and desire that my afsd three daughters shall have a home & maintenance as usual with my well beloved wife, Priscilla Sowell. Lastly I appoint and ordain my well beloved wife, Priscilla Sowell, executrix and Jeremiah Devan, executor to this my last will and testament.
