Tayloe, Richard will date 16 June 1786, proved ?, In the name of God Amen I
Richard Tayloe of Bertie Co... being in proper sense and memory... Imprimis I
bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it... mortal body to the dust...; I
give & bequeath to my son Abraham Tayloe my ridding beast, saddle & bridle and
one cow & calf; I give and bequeath to my daughter, (Olive) the wife of (James
Buden) all the feather beds & furniture I dye possessed of and one cow and calf;
I give and bequeath to my son James Tayloe one Negro woman named Vilet & one
Negro boy named George & (personal items illegible); item I give and bequeath to
my son David Tayloe my (manor plantation) with all the land I dye possessed of,
likewise one Negro woman named Moll and Negro girl named (Diller); item I give
and bequeath to my daughter (Terese) the wife of Thomas Boswell one Negro girl
named Bridget, one cow & calf; item I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel
the wife of James Rice one Negro girl named Barby; item I give and bequeath to
my grandson William Phillips one cow & calf, one large pewter dish; item I give
and bequeath all the residue of my estate not heretofore given in legacies to my
son David Tayloe; I appoint my friend (Wathin William Wynns) and my son David
Tayloe to be my executors, signed Richd. Tayloe, wit Richard Tayloe, (David
