Carolina state in Bertie County being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory therefore calling to mind the mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed for men once to dye do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament and touching my worldy Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. And first & foremost I lend to my Wife Mary Toole all my Land and plantation during her widowhood and after the marriage or death of my said wife --m I give & bequeath all my Land & plantation aforesaid to my Son Frederick Toole to him & his Heirs forever. Furthermore I lend to my wife during her widowhood, five head of Horned Cattle also one broad ax one narrow ax also one great handsaw one Inch auger one Inch Gouge one Inch Chissel one ¾ chissel one drawing knife one pair Iron wedges one Iron fron[?] one grindstone three pewter Dishes three Do Basons six Do plates nine Cs[?] spoons two feather Beds with the furniture thereto belonging with the Bedsteads also one Iron pot one frying pan two flat Irons one sauss pan also my mare bridle & Sadle Likewise one plough brake & Plough hoe one grubing Hoe one weeding hoe one hilling hoe one nail hammer one ¾ auger one two Inch Chisel with a socket all the above said articles I Lend to my wife during her widowhood and also two Jugs one pitcher one Butter pot furthermore I give & bequeath to my wife Mary all my stock of hogs & all my crop of Corn also one Linen wheal and one weaving Loom with all the gear thereunto belonging also all my knives & forks also three pair of spinning Cards also one wooling wheal also my wooden Cooper wear and one meal sifter. furthermore it is my will and desire that after the marriage or Death of my wife that all which I Lent to her be put to publick Sale to the Highest bidder for Cash money and the money Equally Divided among my three children namely Elizabeth Ann, Frederick and Pharaby hereby Excepting & Reserving the Cattle which I desire may not be sold but that they be Eqully divided among my three children above named furthermore it is my Will & desire that after my decease my Executors Imidiately take an inventory of the goods and chattles that Remain not by me given & Lent to my Wife & children and put to publick Sale to the Highest bidder for Cash money & after all my Just debts are paid, the remainder of the money to be put out on Interest (if any) and when my Children Comes to the age of twenty one I desire that the money with principal & interest be Equally divided among my three children before named Phereby nominating and appoint James Gardner and Absolam Carney Executors of this my Last Will & Testament hereby revoking and disannulling all other former wills Testaments Legacies and bequests by me in any wise before mentioned Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in form aforesaid In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty six day of August in the year of our Lord 1781.
