Page 159, Image 161 Of 174, Found At Familysearch.org Written: April 22, 1771 In the name of God amen. I Robert West of Bertie County in the province of North Carolina. Planter being of perfect mind and memory which I think God. I do make this my Last Will and Testament, revoking disanulling and making void all former Wills Testaments by me therefore made, principally and in the first place, I commend my soul to the Almighty God who gave it and my Body to the Dust _____ the generally salvation of Recommending it to my Executors for a decent Christian burial and in respect to such Worldly _________ where with is hath pleased go to bless me with after my just debt'sis paid. I give and dispose of it as followith Viz-It is my desire that all my lands at the loosing swamp be sold and the money to go towards discharging my debts and likewise the legacy in Cullen Pollock Esq hands and the remainder to go to my son George West . Item I give and bequeath to Ann Billips that lives with me ___. Lifetime in the plantation. I had of of David Bryan, likewise two negroe girls Jinny and bobb during her lifetime. Likewise I give fore cows and calves , fore sow and piggs and fore yews and lambs, a good plow horse , one bed and furniture, six silver teaspoons, two puter basins, two dishes fore plates, two iron potts the two said negros at her death with their increase to go to my two sons Robert West and George West equally divided between them. Item I give and bequeath to my son Robert West the Plantation and land I now live on, where David Tressee lived called over the swamp , likewise the Grice mill and that land I had of Webbs Estate and that I had of David Bryan, at Ann Billips death , and two hundred acres of land where Miller lived in the Long acre. Likewise one half of all my stocks household goods cattle hoggs and sheep horses and one third part of many negros or slaves to him and his heirs forever that is besides what I have not given in this will. Item I give and bequeath to my son George West all my land and plantations in the fork of Cashy River containing several patents with the remaining part of the Long acre land and likewise one half of all my stocks, housed goods cattle, hoggs, and sheep, horses, likewise one third part of all my negros or slaves to him and his heirs forever . That is besides what I have not given in this Will. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann West one part of all my negros or slaves with one bed and furniture that is besides what is not given in this will. Item I give and bequeath to John Billips son of Ann Billips the plantation and land joining John Readit's land and likewise one negro girl called grace, if he should decease before he arrives to the age of twenty one land and negroes with their increase to go to my two sons Robert West and George West to share equally between them. I give and bequeath to William Billips son of Ann Billips three hundred and thirty acres of land where Cate McDaniels lived in Buckleberry Pocosin and likewise one negro boy six years old if he should decease before he arrives to the age of twenty years old, land and negro to go to my two sons Robert west and George West to equally share them- Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Daughtry and Ann Billips one negro girl called Patt at the day of marriage or it is sixteen years old with her increase forever, If the said Elizabeth should decease before she arrives at the age of sixteen then the said negro girl with her increase to be equally divided among my two sons Robert West and George West, and Ann West Estate while they are fourteen years and likewise educated as good as Commiently can be had in this country with their own prosions. I desire as soon as possible after my decease my Estate to be divided and the Executors to deliver to them at the age of Twenty One or day of marriage, George West negroes I desire may be removed to his plantation. I do make and ordain Constitute Cullan Pollock Esq. and Doctor Robert Lemose and Elexander Hous and Robert West Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 22nd day of April 1771, signed seal'd and delivered in the presence of Eli Hewlett.
