All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Mitchell CdraMitch@aol.com February 7, 2005, 5:57 pm Source: Will Book F Pg 204 Written: 1812 Will of WILLIAM COFFIELD, Will of William Coffield -- Bertie County, NC---Recorded Book F, page 204 Written December 05, 1811 Probated February 1812 In the name of God Amen, I WILLIAM COFFIELD, of Bertie County of State of No Carolina being weak of body but of sound mind & memory blessed be God for the same do make & ordain this my last will and testament in manners & form following that is to say first, I give my son JETHRO COFFIELD, ten shillings & some thing which he has had hereto for to him & his heirs forever, 2 I give my son WILLIAM COFFIELD fifteen dollars for which I have his note & some thing which he has had before to him & his heirs forever, 3 I give my son JOSIAH COFFIELD ten shillings & the things he had when he was first married to him & his heirs forever, 4th I give my son in law NATHANIEL MILLAR ten shillings & the things he has heretofore ----? to him & his heirs for ever, 5th I give my son FREDERICK COFFIELD ten shillings & the things he has had heretofore to him & his heirs forever, 6th I give my son ISAAC COFFIELD ten shillings & the things he has already had to him & his heirs forever, 7th I give my son BENJAMIN COFFIELD all my land & plantation, one bed & furniture to him & his heirs forever, 8th I give my daughter ELIZABETH GASKINS ten shillings to her & her heirs forever, 9th I give my grandson WILLIAM COFFIELD son of JOSIAH COFFIELD one horse which the said JOSIAH COFFIELD family have the use of at this time & one cuming to his the said Wm Coffield & his heirs forever, all the rest & residue of my property not given away I wish to be sold by my executors and the money arising therefrom after(?) paying my just debts funeral expenses, --?, I give one tenth thereof to my daughters CHRISTINER COFFIELD to her & her heirs forever, the balance I give t be equally divided amonst all my daughters ELIZABETH GASKINSES children them that she has now got & those that she may hereafter have to them & their heirs forever, lastly I nominate & appoint my son in law DAVID GASKINS & my friend BENJAMIN HARDY my sole executors, comfirming this and no other to be my last will & testament. His wife had a name I'm not familiar with "Inda"? I think many of the Cofields in the Capeharts and Ross communities came from this William.
