Bladen County, NC - Benson Cemetery

Location of Cemetery: From the Carvers (Creek) crossroad on Hwy 
NC 87 take the the Ewell Ferry Road (SR 1730) south 1.9 miles to 
the Figure 9 Road (SR 1748); turn right on the Figure 9 Road and 
go .5 mile. The cemetery is located on the south side of the about 
100-200 feet in the woods and 100-200 feet from the edge of a field.
 
The cemetery contains two stone markers and three graves with wooden 
markers. The inscriptions on the stone markers:
 
Francis Benson
Sept 12, 1818 to Feb 27, 1882
 
Levi S. Benson
Co. B - NC Arty - CSA
 
(Personal note: My greatgrandmother was a Benson, Susannah Benson 
Grimsley, and it belived that her young child was buried there.)
