COURT DECREED SALE
NOTICE, Will be sold at the Court-house in Elizabeth Town and County of Bladen 
on Tuesday, the 21st day of August, the following property or so much thereof 
as will satisfy the several Executions obtained by the Governor of North 
Carolina to the use of the County Trustees and wardens of the poor, against 
the securities of  JOSIAH LEWIS, late Sheriff –
 Five thousand four hundred and seventy nine acres of Land in different Tracts 
lying on each side of the North West River,  on several of which are valuable 
apple orchards; nine hundred and fifteen acres on the brown and white marshes 
and the swamps thereof, also with valuable orchard, one hundred sixty-six 
acres on Hammon’s Creek.
Forty-five young and likely Negroes, one hundred and fifteen head of cattle, 
twenty-eight head of sheep, twenty head of hogs, eleven head of horses, three 
beds, etc. etc.
