DEED BOOK 7 PAGE 30 Joshua Lee to John Butler This indenture made the first day of Febry in the year of our Lord 1798 between Joshua Lee of the State of North Carolina & County of Bladen, Planter, of one part, and John Butler of the County & State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Joshua Lee for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said John Butler before the encealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, himself therewith fully satisfied & paid & contented have given, granted bargained, sold enfeoffed, conveyed & confirmed and doth by these presents give, grant, bargain, sell, enfeoff, alien, convey & confirm unto the said John Butler his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bladen, containing by Patent fifty acres lying on the South westward of boot Branch joining & Beginning on said Lee line at two fore & aft pines & running West 17 chains & 50 links to Hester's line, thence with it So. 30 East 16 chains to his corner a pine, thence on his other South line 60 west 5 chs to a pine three pointers, thence South 22 chains, thence East 14 chains, thence No 39 chains to the beginning the reversion & reversions, the remainder & remainders, with all the edifices & improvements thereunto belonging unto him the said John Butler, his heirs & assigns forever to their proper use & behoof & the said Joshua Lee has hereunto set his hand & seal The day and year first above written.
