Elisha Bedsole, Sr.'s 1796 deed to 130 acres in Virginia Robert Brooke, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth Of Virginia. To all to whom these presents shall come, Greetings. Know Ye, that by virtue of a land office treasury warrant number twenty thousand three hundred and eighty fourpaid the tenth day of November, one thousand seven hundred and eighty three, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Elisha Bedsol, Senior, assignee of Daniel Cummins a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and thirty acres by survey bearing date the fourteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine, lying and being in the county of Montgomery on the east side of Chestnut Creek and is bounded as follows, to Wit: Beginning at a white oak by a branch and down the branch one hundred and sixty poles and down the creek one hundred and twenty poles to a hickory sapling north thirty degrees east sixty poles crossing the creek to as white oak sapling north twenty five degrees east ninety poles to a white oak on the top of a high hill and south twenty one degrees east two hundred and ninety two poles to the beginning. With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land to the said Elisha Bedsol and his heirs forever. In Witness whereof, the said Robert Brooke, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth Of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lessor seal of the Commonwealth to be affixed thereto at Richmond on the second day of June, one thousand seven hundred and ninety six and of the Commonwealth the twentieth.
