Bladen County, NC - Abstracts of Bedsole Family Land Entries, #3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 23 March, 1842- Daniel Bedsole (son of William Bedsole), Thomas Parker and wife Charity Bedsole (Daughter of William Bedsole) of Cumberland County, NC, Nusen Autry & wife Clarry Bedsole (Daughter of William Bedsole)also of Cumberland County, NC to Love McDaniel (Attorney, Bladen County, NC) all our right, interest, title & claim to lands of William Henry Bedsole, of Bladen County, NC, deceased, being undivided and containing 417 acres on the S side of of South River. First tract adjoins lands of Thomas Bedsole (Sr.) granted to William Bedsole on 12 December 1816-another tract of 107 acres being part of a tract granted to Samuel Hales on 9 March, 1791 on the south side of South River, east of the Stage Road, adj. lands of Mathew Hales-3rd tract of 100 acres granted to Thomas Bedsole (Sr.) & by him conveyed to to Benjamin Faircloth (son in-law of Thomas Sr., married daughter of Thomas, Francis Bedsole) & by him to William Henry Bedsole on W side of South River -5th tract of 10 acres -6th tract of 100 acres being part of tract granted to Samuel Hales on March 9, 1797 including that part not sold or give to John Bedsole (uncle of Thomas Bedsole, Sr.) & adjoining lands of Samuel Phares- also our interest in 100 acres "Which we have not got the Grant nor Courses" to the 3/8th part of the above land. Feb. term, 1825. April 23, 1762- John Melton, Planter, Bladen County, NC party of the first part hereby sells and conveys unto Vincent Bedsole, (Uncle of Thomas Bedsole, Sr.) party of the second part, Bladen County, NC, a certain tract of 300 acres lying, being and situate in Bladen County, NC, for 4 pounds sterling, as follows: To Wit: Beginning at two white oaks near a ridge and running along the line of Thomas Bedsole (Sr., Nephew of Vincent), N 156 poles, and 12 Links. Aug. 20, 1764- Vincent Bedsole (Uncle of Thomas Bedsole, Sr.), Bladen County, to James Bailey 4 pounds sterling for 190 acres, adj. lands of Thomas Bedsole, Sr. (This appears to be part of the 300 acres above, which Vincent bought in 1762). From Book # 107, 1779; Captain Johnsons District; Deeds Of Bladen County, NC; Thomas Bedsole (Sr.) enters 100 acres on Beaverdam. From Book # 119; Feb. 2, 1779; John Bedsole, Bladen County, NC, enters 100 acres about 600 yards below Watsons Branch by a place called the "Thick Bolk". Jan. 1, 1793- William (Henry) Bedsole (brother of Vincent and John. Uncle of Thomas Sr.) of Bladen County, NC party of the first part sells conveys and transfers unto William Gray, planter, Bladen County, NC, part of the second part, a certain tract of land lying, being and situate in Bladen County, NC and containing 50 acres, for 15 Shillings.
