Thos. Browder deed to John Fokes
Bladen County, NC  1774

This Indenture made this 10th day of Dec A D 1774 between Thos. Browder of
the County of Bladen & province of No. Carolina & Jon. Fokes of the same
county & province of the other part Witnesseth That the sd Thos. Browder for
& in consideration of the sum of L 150 to him in hand paid by the sd Jno.
Fokes a second to be pd before the ensealing & delivery of these presents
the wit whereof the sd Thos. Browder doth hereby acknowledge & therefore
doth hereby discharge the sd Jon. Fokes his heirs Exor Admin & assigns he
the sd Thos. Browder hath given granted barga* sold & coma* dold enfeoffa* &
confirmd* & as by these presents for himself his heirs give grant bargn*
sell enfeoff alien & confirm unto the sd John Fokes his heirs & assigns
forever one certain tract or parcel of Land situate lying & being on the So.
side of the Waccamaw swamp beginning at a Black Oak then running West 232
poles to a small red oak sapling then No xxx 280 poles to a water oak in the
swamp then running within the swamp to the beginning containing 200 acres
bet eh same more or less with all & singular the premises hereby grantd* &
also all trees woods waters water ways profits commodities hereditments &
appertenances whatever to the same belonging & also the revision &
reversions remainder & remainders rents & ___ of the sd premises or any part
thereof & all the estate right title interest claim & demand of him the sd
Thos Browder & to the sd premises or any part or parcel thereof To Have the
sd land & premises with the appertenances unto the sd John Fokes his heirs &
assigns forever & that freely & clearly discharges & kept harmless &
undisturbed of all 7 every other bargn* sales gifts grant Mortgage executors
& am__ other incumbrances whatever the quit rents becoming due only excepted
& reserved for the use of his majesty's his heirs & successors & the sd Thos
Browder for himself & his heirs the sd land & premises & every part thereof
against himself his heirs & against all & every other person or persons
whatever to the sd John Foke his heirs & assigns forever will warranty &
forever defend by virtue of these presents. In witness the sd Thos Browder
hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year above written signed seald*
& deliverd*
