John Patterson received a grant of land.
1753	9 May.  250 acres in Bladen County on the head of a branch of Rockfish 
creek being the place where William Gilmore did live.

Transcription of the original (File 414): 

 Jno Patterson 250 Bladen.  George the second  To all  Know ye that we have 
granted unto John Patterson, two hundred and fifty acres of Land in the County 
of Bladen, on the head of a branch of Rockfish creek being the place where Wm 
Gilmore did live, Beginning at a pine, runing No 25 Et 50 chs to a Hickory, 
thence No 65 Wt 50 chs to a pine, thence So 25 Wt 50 chs to a dogwood tree, 
thence So 65 Et 50 chs to the Begining.  To Hold   Dated this Ninth day of May
