State of North Carolina No 684 To all to whom these presents shall come
greeting Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty
shillings & for every hundred acres hereby granted paid unto our treasury by
Alen Hardwick have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant
unto the said Alen Hardwick a tract of land containing one hundred acres
lying and being in our County of Bladen on the West side of the Western
Prong beginning at a pine on Wallis lien and running West forty four chains
and thirty six links to a in A by East forty four chains seventy two links
to B then North twenty two chains thirty six links to the beginning
          Pr patent dated Octr* the 23rd 1782
