BLADEN COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - William Johnson to Samuel Johnson, 12 Sep 1786 ----¤¤¤---- WILLIAM JOHNSON TO SAMUEL JOHNSON Bladen County, NC 1786 Deed Book 1, No. 473, Pages 396-397 This Indenture Made the twelfth day of September in the year of our Lord AD one thousand seven hundred and Eighty Six between William Johnson of the State of North Carolina and County of Bladen of the one part and Samuel Johnson of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Johnson for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency of the state aforesaid to him in had paid or cause to be paid by the said Samuel Johnson at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said William Johnson and himself therewith fully Satisfied contented and paid hath given granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents doth give grant Bargain Sell Enfeoff and convey unto the said Samuel Johnson his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land lying and being in the County of Bladen Beginning at a White Oak on the West Side of Ellises Creek Capt William Ellis Beginning corner and running along and beyond his line 32 Degrees West Sixty chains and 40 links to a Stake by a Cypress and pine then No 16 Degrees Et 35 chains and 58 links to a large pine on the side of the White Oak Swamp then No 70 D West 62 chains and 50 links unto the White Oak Swamp to a Stake then No 16 D Et 40 chains then So 74 Et 93 chains & 18 links to a Maple in Ellises Creek Swamp then So 7 D Wt 114 chains and 80 links then South 58 West 5 chains to the Beginning containing Six hundred and forty acres more or less as will appear by said patent to have and to hold the above sd premises with all and Singular the improvements to him the Said Samuel Johnson his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Johnson doth further covenant and agree With the said Samuel Johnson that before the ensealing and delivery of these presents that he is fully and legally ceized of said land and the said William Johnson doth further covenant and agree with the said Samuel Johnson his heirs and assigns for himself his heirs and assigns the said tract of land with all and Singular the improvements and the said William Johnson doth forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land from himself and his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever to the proper use and behoof of sd Samuel Johnson his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of us William Johnson [signed w/signature] (Seal) William Averett Margaret Johnson Bladen August Term 1787 This Deed was proved by William Averett and ordered to be Registered John White C.
