BLADEN COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - Amos Johnston Deed to Iver Mcmillan, 28 Jun 1799 ----¤¤¤---- AMOS JOHNSTON DEED TO IVER MCMILLAN Bladen County, NC 1799 Deed Book 7, page 267 This Indenture made the 28th day of June AD 1799 Between Amos Johnston of the State of No* Car* & County of Jones of the one part & Iver McMillan of the same State & County of Bladen of the other part Witnessth that the said Amos Johnston for & in consideration of the sum of L 10 18 to me in hand paid the receipt I do hereby acknowledge myself fully satisfied & paid for the same have given granted alienated enfeoffed conveyed confirmed bargained sold & do by these presents give grant & bargain sell unto the said Iver Mc*Millan his heirs assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Bladen on the South side of Horse Shoe Swamp & on Middle Swamp beginning at a pine & runs No* 39 chs & 74 links to his old line then with the same No* 95 E 16 chs & 30 links to a large pine then So 45 E 28 chs to a pine then So 76 chs & 75 links to a stake & several pines marked pointers in the Patent line then with the same No 60 W 86 chs & 50 links to a marked line of his 50 acre survey patented by Samuel McRee then with the same No* 21 chs to a White Oak the beginning of said survey then with the other line East 15 chs 81 links to the beginning containing by estimation 290 acres be the same more or less which said land was granted to John E? Blount Esqr by Patent bearing date the 26th day of Decr 1794 & sold by T. W. Harvey Esq sheriff of the County of Bladen to me the said Amos Johnston on the 29th of February 1799 to pay the Taxes due on the said land for the year 1799[or 1797] Reference being had to the different offices will make the same more fully appear To have & to hold the said land & premises together with all & singular the right titles hereditaments appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Iver Mc*Millan his heirs Exrs* admrs* & assigns forever I the said Amos Johnston doth for myself my heirs Exrs* & admrs* covenant & agree to & with the said Iver Mc*Millan that I will from time to time & at all times warrant & defend the before mentioned land & premises with all its appurtenances free & clear from the lawful claim or the said John G. Blount Esq or his heirs or assigns or any person claiming under him in any manner or form whatsoever unto the said Iver McMillan his heirs exrs* admrs* & assigns forever In witness whereof I the said Amos Johnston hath hereunto set my hand & seal The day & year first above written Signed sealed & delivered in presence of Archd* Mc*Millan A.
