Butler ==================================================================== Bladen County, NC Deed Book 10 pg 129/130 This indenture made 16th of August in the year of our Lord 1833 between John Smith of the one part and Daniel Smith of the other part. Both of the County of Bladen and the state of North Carolina. Witnessth that the said John Smith for & in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid at & before the signing and sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Granted Bargained and sold by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver and convey to him the said Daniel Smith his heirs and assigns at the said John Smith Decease a certain piece of land situate[d] lying and being in the County of Bladen on the North East side of Turnbull Creek containing one hundred acres bound as follows: Beginning at a water oak at run of said creek and runs E 49 chains 50 links to a stake then [S] 38 W 42 chains to a stake the S 69 W 98 Chains then with the meanders of the creek to the beginning. To have and to hold the said bargained premises unto him the said Daniel Smith his heirs and assigns for ever with all bargained premises these belonging I the said John Smith do except for his till his decease and to the use of Susan Smith to decease. I the said John Smith do warrent and forever defend the said bargained premises from all other claims when I set my hand and seal.
