West of the other part each of the State of North Carolina & Bladen County. Witnesseth that the said John Smith for & in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Wm. West lawfully paid to the said John Smith each of the same State & County in the sealing signing & delivering the receipt in hereby as acknowledged hath hereby bargained & sold unto the said Wm. West, 200 acres, a tract or parcel of land containing 200 acres all & singular lying & being in the east side of Turnbull in the county aforesaid, the 200 acres beginning above the Gum Branch called Davy Gum, at a pine near Parker’s corner & runs S 50 chains to a stake then direct to the beginning corner. The said 200 acres from Solomon Davis to the said John Smith consideration aforesaid the said John Smith doth by these presents bind himself his heirs & assigns forever to warrant & defend the said lands to the said William West his heirs exec[utors]- admin- [istrators] & assigns forever his right title or claim to the said Wm. West to be clear of all encumbrances claims or titles whatsoever. Witness whereof the said John Smith hath hereunto set his hand & seal in presence of.
