W. KINLAW AND WIFE TO THOMAS M. WILLIAMSON THIS deed made this 10th day of August, 1899, by A. W. Kinlaw and wife Rena of Bladen County and State of North Carolina, of the first part, to Tho. M. Williamson of Bladen County and State of North Carolina of the second part: WITNESSETH, That said A. W. Kinlaw & wife, in consideration of ten dollars, to them paid by said Tho. M. Williamson, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said Tho. W. Williamson and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in White Oak Township, Bladen County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of the said Tho. M. Williamson and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at the corner of Tho. M. Williamson's garden and runs thence in a Southeasterly direction with an old ditch (run filled in) diagonally across said garden to said garden fence, then in a Westerly direction with said garden fence to the public road and corner of said garden, then South with said Fayetteville road to the beginning, containing about one fourth of an acre, more or less. Said parcel of land lies on the East side of and in the said Fayetteville and Elizabethtown road, and is a lot on which is built an office now occupied and used by D. Anders(?). To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Tho. M. Williamson, and heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said A. W. Kinlaw and wife Rena covenant to and with the said Tho. M. Williamson, his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, that they have a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said A. W. Kinlaw & wife Rena have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written. A. W. Kinlaw (seal) A. L. Kinlaw (seal) North Carolina, Bladen County I, W. H. Culbreth, do hereby certify that A. W. Kinlaw and A. L. Kinlaw, his wife, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance; and the said A. L. Kinlaw, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
