W. KINLAW AND WIFE TO J. T. MARTIN AND T. G. KINLAW STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA BLADEN COUNTY. THIS DEED Made this the 28th day of November, 1890, by A. W. Kinlaw and wife M. C. of Bladen County and State of North Carolina of the first part, to J. T. Martin and T. G. Kinlaw of Bladen County and State of North Carolina of the second part: WITNESSETH, That said A. W. Kinlaw and wife M. C., in consideration of twenty-five dollars, to them paid by J. T. Martin and T. G. Kinlaw, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J. T. Martin and T. G. Kinlaw and their heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in White Oak Township, Bladen County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of A. W. Kinlaw and others, bounded as follows, viz: On the east side of Harrison's Creek and above the Richardson old mill, beginning at a stake at the east edge of the creek, and runs east 3 chs and 17 links to a stake at the west side of the road, then as the road N. 10 deg east 3 1/2 chs, then west 2 chs and 67 links to the creek or main run, then down said run with its meanderings to the beginning, containing one acre. Conditions are that should the above parties ever wish to sell or dispose of the above described tract of land, they will first give me or some of my family the chance of buying it. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel lot and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said T. J. Martin and T. G. Kinlaw, their heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said A. W. Kinlaw and wife M. C. covenant to and with the said T. J. Martin and T. G. Kinlaw, their heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, and hath right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said A. McCullock, do hereby certify that A. W. Kinlaw and Mahala C. Kinlaw, his wife, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance; and the said Mahala C. Kinlaw, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
