Isaac Cooper proved. Robert Dunn got land Apr 1, 1751 – 300 acres on North side of Rockfish, at mouth of Falling run, and runs across said Run. ‘to be proved’ Robert Dunn got land Feb. 23, 1754 – 300 acres on Rockfish, joining a small branch. May be same land as above, not proved til 1754. (So how were these men related?) ================== Also: John Dunn got land on Richland Creek November 23, 1764 Joseph Dunn got land on Richland Creek October 28, 1765 Benjamin Dunn got land on Richland Creek October 30, 1765 Were these brothers? Was it father, John, and sons Joseph & Benjamin? Was it brothers, John and Joseph, and John’s son Benjamin? And how were they related to the Dunns on Rockfish Creek above? ==================== The ELWELLS witnessed all of Benjamin Dunn’s land transactions. Could it be that his wife was an Elwell? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALWAYS REMEMBER: AT FIRST THERE WAS JUST BLADEN…HUGE, WENT ALL THE WAY OUT TO THE END OF BRITAIN’S POSSESSIONS. IN 1750, THERE WERE ONLY BLADEN AND ANSON OUT THERE IN 1754, CUMBERLAND CAME INTO BEING TODAY, THERE ARE MILLIONS OF SMALL COUNTIES WHERE THOSE WERE. DEEDS MADE THEN WOULD BE FOUND IN ANY NUMBER OF PLACES TODAY. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TRYING TO TRACK DOWN LOCATIONS OF WATERWAYS NAMED IN DEEDS: SW branch of Waggamaw below the White marsh, below Richland branch so the Richland Branch is not the Creek up in Moore Co, it was down by the White Marsh river, a fork of the Waccamaw. but then again…? on Richland or Solomon's Swamp..E Drowning CR… Drowning Creek was first called the Lumbee by early inhabitants (meaning dark water – it’s colored dark with tannins).. Europeans called it Drowning Creek (supposedly Daniel Boone drowned an Indian in it). It wasn’t named The Lumber River until 1809. So any Drowning Creek deed could have been on what is now the Lumber River. When the Lumber River crosses the South Carolina border it becomes the Little Pee Dee. The Little Pee Dee flows into the Great Pee Dee and empties into Winyah Bay (Georgetown). W side of White Marsh...Wm. Hestor’s line… S side of Bogue Swamp bet the White Marsh & the lake … these sound like the Waccamaw between Slap Swamp and Richland Branch … Husbands and Wives: William Dunn and Hannah Benjamin Dunn and Sarah John Dunn Sr. and Mary Robert Dunn and Precilla Richard Dunn and Elizabeth George Cooper and Elizabeth Joseph Cooper and Mary Isaac Pinson and Rebecca Samuel Mains and Elizabeth William Maultsby and Margaret Sylvanus Wilson and Rebecca Alexander Steele and Fanny Stephen Hollingsworth and Mary John Leggett and Rachael James Jackson and Marshea (Marsha?)
