This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Rebecca McNeal RMcneal337@aol.com ==================================================================== Bladen Co., North Carolina Deed Book 21, pgs. 10-11 To Durrum Lewis From Thomas Simson Sate of North Carolina, Bladen County Know all men by these presents that I Thos Simson of the county and state aforesaid planter for and in consideration of the natural love and affection I have to my daughter Amey wife of Durram Lewis have given granted bargained and delivered and by these presents do give bargain and deliver unto Durrum Lewis the negro slaves Lucy, Amaritta, Jude, Jane, Harry, and Peter with the future increase of the females and for the like consideration do grant bargain and sell unto the said Durram Lewis his heirs and assignes forever one hundred acres of land on Barkers Creek formerly the property of Thos. Bryan, The Elder my later wife's father now dec'd to have and to hold to have and to hold the said bargained premises and every part and parcel unto there of unto him. The said Durram Lewis his heirs and assignes forever in trust for future occupation and conveinience of myself during life, and from and after my decease to the sole use of the said Durram Lewis and his assignes absolutly and forever. In witness whefeof I have here unto set my hand and seal this the 10th day of Aug., in the year of our Lord 1803. Signed sealed and delivered, Thos. Lewis State of North Carolina County of Bladen Know all men present that I Thos. Simson of the county and state aforesaid, planter, for and in consideration of natural love and affection I give to my daughter Sarah Lewis wife of Richard M. Lewis, have given granted bargained and delivered unto the said Sarah Lewis the negro slaves Lydia, Bet, Jane,Nance, Jack and Tom, with the future increase of the families and for the like consideration I grant bargain and sell unto daughter Sarah Lewis her heirs and assigns forever 150 acres of Land in said county on the South side of Bryan Swamp joining Peter Simmon Line, the place where Ric'd M. Lewis now lives with all improvements and homesteads? there unto belonging to I have thus the said bargained premisies and every part and parcel unto the said Sarah Lewis her heirs and assignes forever. In trust for the use and occupation and sole convenience of myself durring life and after my decease to the sole use of the said sarah Lewis and her heirs and assignes forever.
