Know ye that we do hereby Give & Grant unto John MacKnight, a Tract of Land 
Containing six hundred and forty acres in Bath County, on the S. W. side of 
the NorthWest Branch of Capefear river at a place commonly called Mount 
Pleasant. Beginning at a poplar by the river side runing thence So. 35 W 427 
poles to a pine, No. 55 W 240 poles to a pine, No 35 East 427 poles to a 
poplar by the River, thence down the river to the first Station To Have & To
