BLADEN COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - Frances Ivey To Thomas Rowland, 27 Feb 1786 ----¤¤¤---- FRANCES IVEY DEED TO THOMAS ROWLAND Bladen County, NC 1786 Deed Book 1, No. 212, pages 151, 152 This Indenture Made the 27th day of Feby in the year of our Lord 1786 between Frances Ivey of the County of Bladen and State of North Carolina Planter of the one part and Thomas Rowland of the same place cooper of the other part Witnesseth that the said Frances Ivey for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds lawful money of said State to him in hand to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Rowland at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof the said Frances Ivey doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted Bargained Sold and by these presents doth give grant Bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Thomas Rowland his heirs forever a certain piece or parcel of land containing three hundred acres Situated in the aforesaid County on the South Side of Drowning Creek and both Sides of Indian Beginning it Water oak in a pond East of Indian Swamp rung West 310 pole to a Black Jack near a Meadow then South one hundred and fifty-five pole to a Sweet bay in a pond then East 310 pole to a pine in a pond then direct to the beginning patent was granted to John Willis bearing date the 12th of Novr 1779 and conveyed by the said John Willis to the said Frances Ivey by deed bearing date the 15th of June 1784 to have and to hold the aforesaid Bargained land and premises to him the said Thomas Rowland his heirs and assigns forever with all house Orchards Gardens fences ways and waters wood land and cleared land with all rights privileges profits commodities and advantages to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining and he the said Frances Ivey doth for himself and his heirs &c warrant and forever defend the said land and premises to the said Thomas Rowland his heirs and assigns forever against lawful claim or claims of all manner of person whatsoever I the said Thomas Rowland his heirs &c shall from time and at all times hereafter forever have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said land and premises in his or their own right and have full power and lawful authority to give or dispose for the same and for the further assurance and better confirmation of said land and premises to the said Thomas Rowland his heirs &c the said Frances Ivey for himself his heirs &c doth agree that he and they may at any time hereafter will execute any other deed or deeds as shall be advised or devised or required In witness whereof the said Francis Ivey hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence) James Ivey [signed w/signature] (Seal) of John Willis) Wm Phillips) Bladen May 1786 This deed was proved by John Willis and ordered to be Registered John White C.
