BLADEN COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - Christopher & Sarah Sanders to Daniel Shipman, 4 Aug 1770 ----¤¤¤---- CHRISTOPHER SANDERS & WIFE DEED TO DANIEL SHIPMAN Bladen, NC 1777 Deed Book 23, page 4 This Indenture made the fourth day of Aug in the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy between Christopher Sanders & Sarah his wife of the one part and of the county of Bladen and province of North Carolina, and Daniel Shipman of the county and province aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Christopher Sanders and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds proclamation money to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge themselves fully satisfied with and contented and paid hath given granted bargained sold, aliened enfeoffed conveyed, and confirmed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell aliens enfeoffs convey and confirm unto the said Daniel Shipman, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Bladen county aforesaid on a branch of the Western prong of the Waccamaw being a part of a tract of land containing four hundred and forty acres, beginning at a pine in Adams line thence 86 deg Et* 180 poles to a pine thence 410 degs Et* 410 poles to a black gum thence So* degs W 180 poles to a lightwood stump thence So* 4 degs E. 130 poles to a sweetgum thence No* 56 degs E. 27 poles along Thomas Robeson's line that was __ or white oak in the said line thence So* 43 degs E. 116 poles to a red oak in the said line that was Thomas Robeson's now the said Christopher Sanders thence So* 47 degs W 200 poles to a white oak in said Adams line thence 40 degs E. 116 poles along Adams' line to the place of beginning The said Daniel Shipman to have 40 acres and of the said tract of land beginning at Joshua Hayes line or white oak running to a red oak from thence across the land to a line made by Thomas Robison and David Clark to a pine from thence to the said Joshua Hayes line and along to the first station Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining all the rights issues and profits thereof with all the right property claims and demand whatsoever of him the said Christopher Sanders and Sarah his wife of in or to the same to him the said Daniel Shipman his heirs and assigns forever to their own proper use benefit and behoof, free and clear of all manner of encumbrances whatsoever only the quit rents that shall hereafter become due, and the said Christopher Sanders and Sarah his wife doth further covenant and agree for themselves that he the said Daniel Shipman shall and may at all times hereafter hold, use and occupy the aforesaid forty acres of land without the hindrance interruption or molestation of him the said Christopher Sanders and Sarah his wife, their heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and we the said Christopher Sanders and Sarah his wife their heirs and assigns do by these presents warrant and defend the said forty acres of land from any manner of person or persons whatsoever that doth or shall at any time say or make any claim or right thereunto whatsoever.
