This indenture made the 21st day of Nov in the year of our Lord 1810 between Stephen Smith of the County of Bladen & State aforesaid of the one part & John Smith of the said county of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Stephen Smith for & in consideration of the sum of $50 to him paid before the sealing and delivering thereof by John Smith the receipt whereof the said Stephen Smith doth by these presents acknowledge himself to be therewith fully satisfied contented & paid doth by these presents hereby acquit exonerate & discharge the said John Smith his heirs execs admins of & from every part & parcel thereof hath given granted bargained sold eneoffed conveyed & confirmed & doth by these presents fully & freely & absolutely give grant bargain sell convey enfeoff & confirmed unto John Smith his heirs & assigns forever a tract of land containing 100 acres situated in the County of Bladen & State aforesaid on the W side of Cypress Creek Beginning at a stake Rich Smith’s corner running N 2 W 27 chs to a stake then N 85 W 8 chs to a stake Cromartie corner N 2 W 7 chs to a stake then S 88 W 24 chs & 63 lks to a stake S 2 E 34 chs to a stake then N 88 E 31 chs & 63 liks to the beginning. It being part of the tract 200 acres patient granted to Wm. Cromartie conveyed by deed to Alex Henry & by Henry to Stephen Smith & from Stephen Smith to John Smith together with all & singular the privilages profits & appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining. To have & to hold all & singular the bargained premises to him the said John Smith his heirs & assigns forever to his & their proper use himself & thereof for & freely & clearly from all manner of circumstances whatever & I the said Stephen Smith do bind myself my heirs execs & admins to warrant & forever defend the said land to the said John Smith or his heirs forever or any part thereof against all claim or claims whatever & all manner of presense the same & do warrant & forever defend from the claims of any that may lay any right interest to this same or any part thereof.
