Hoffman and Shirley W. Spooner Henry H. Williams wife To J. B. Parker State of North Carolina, Bladen County This deed, made this 2nd day of March 1906 by H. H. Williams wife Ica of Bladen County and state of North Carolina of the first part, to J. B. Porter of Bladen County and State of North Carolina of the second part, witnessed: That said H. H. Williams in consideration of one hundred and Ninety Dollars, to him paid by J. B. Porter, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J. B. Porter and his heirs and assigns, a certain track or parcel of land in Frenches Creek Township, Bladen County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. R. A. Williams and others-being a part of hundred acre tract of land bought from A. H. North and others, bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at a stake in Mrs. Jordan's line on Black River main road 8 chains and 48 links to the South west line of said tract, thence West 7 chains 57 links with said line to a stake, thence North 1 chains 10 links to Mrs. Jordan's line on said main road, thence with Mrs. Jordan's line 7 chs' 80' liks to the beginning corner, thirty acres more or less. The lines North, South, West lines was found a variation of 5 degrees from the original survey. To Have and To Hold, the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said J. B. Porter his heirs and his assigns to his only use and behalf forever. And the Said H. H. Williams wife Ica covenant and wit the said J. B. Porter his heirs and assigns that they are seized of said premises in fee and has a right to convey the same in fee simple; that same are free from all encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof, the said H. H. Williams, wife Ica has herewith set their hands and seals. The day and year first above written. Attest: H. H. Williams and Ica Williams his wife personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance , and the said Ica Williams being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same; doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or of any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. This 3rd day of March 1906. J. B. Squires, JP North Carolina, Bladen County The foregoing certificate of J. H. Squires JP of Bladen County is adjudged to be correct and sufficient. S. Williamson Register of Deeds Additional Comments: The R. A. Williams mentioned in the deed who had land adjacent to Henry and Ica Williams was Henry's twin brother. They were sons of Mary Catherine Peterson and Henry H. Williams, Sr.. John Paul Williams was another son. Mary Catherine was the d/o Timothy Peterson and niece of Isham Peterson. She was living in Bladen Co., NC with Isham Peterson when the 1880 NC Census was taken. She is buried in the original Natemore Baptist Church Cemetery (now Holmes Hill)in the Natemore Community near Kelly, NC. Robert was md. to Lillie Brown. They are buried in the Brown Cemetery in Kelly, NC. Henry died in Florida.
