The following laconic correspondence is copied from "The Minerva,"
printed at Raleigh, NC.

Elizabeth-Town, Nov. 17, 1808

Mr. Boylan,

Sir - Please stop sending the Minerva directed to me. I have not
perused one of them for some time. I am a true united Irishman.
                         Yours, &c.
                           Alex M'Dowell

Sir - Your name is sticken from the list of my subscribers. I am 
sir, a true American.
                         Wm. Boylan
